Hey everyone!!!
So this week has been great!!!
We had interviews with the President, and a temple visit, as well as just all the other awesome stuff that can happen in a week!! So fun!
Especially fun thing this week, at president interviews, while we wait for the interview, we get to hang out with the President's wife, which was super fun! My history as the walking encyclopedia resurfaced, not entirely sure why, but it did, and it entertained everyone super well. It was funny because the conversation would go in a random direction, that one person may have known a lot about, and they were the one who was the authority on the matter, and then I chime in with a random fact about the same matter that they may not have known about. Fun stuff
There was this one man that we met this week, certainly was an interesting character. So he's met missionaries a bunch of times before in the past, and knows the doctrine super well, knows a ton about the church like where there are temples and stuff, but is soooooo confused. He kept on asking if we smoked, so we started talking about the Word of Wisdom, and how those things are bad for you. He said they weren't. He also asked why cigarettes are more expensive in America. I said it was because a tax. He asked why there was that tax. My response was because they are bad for you, and other people too. Pretty sure that's right. That was only the tip of the ice berg. This man, needed so much help. I wish he could just stop talking for long enough to let the spirit in. Dude talks, sooooo fast. I could understand, but my companion was just lost. This man really needs some help, but I don't know what to do. Maybe we can figure it out soon.
The temple was super great. I love being at the temple! It's so nice. It was strange though because it's technically outside of our mission boundaries, so we are supposed to spend as little time there as possible, but I feel like you shouldn't rush being at the temple. I don't know what to do, but I'm sure we were just fine in the time we spent there, because we got back and were productive missionaries.
Lately my district has been struggling a little bit. I don't know what it is, but they would put forth what seems like more work with 4 companionships than they do with 5. I don't know what to do about it sometimes!! It's pretty stressful, because I feel like it's a reflection upon me, but I don't know how to do more than what I am already trying to do! Just frustrating. That's all it is. They're all super cool people, but I wish I could see what they were doing a lot of the time that makes it seem like they aren't working as hard.
Fun story, so cicadas are out in force in Korea right now, and it's just about the most annoying thing that you have ever heard. I legitimately feel like it's making me go deaf half the time that I'm outside. They are not incredibly attractive bugs either. I've been really wondering what they even contribute to the world anyways, cause as far as I can tell, it doesn't seem like much!! If anybody knows what they do that's productive, then please let me know! Anyways, one of the Zone Leaders caught one somehow last week, and he wanted to torture it a little for the pain that his kind has caused us! Fortunately, I was able to let the bug free before he mutilated it. Also the cicadas outside just started screaming. perfect timing.
Other things about bugs, I got destroyed by mosquitos the other day! I hadn't been bit in like 4 weeks, and then all the sudden BAM! bug food.
Oh yeah, here's a fun one, this is how you say mosquito and cicada in Korean
매미 (me-mi) cicada and 모기 (mo-gi) mosquito
Sorry, I have to be off in like 2 minutes, so I gotta go. I feel like I didn't right that much this week so I'll apologize for that too, but you know, gotta be doing all that exact obedience stuff!
Love you bye!!
