Hey Everybody!!!
Another good week.  I know I've said it before and I'll say it again, but every week is a good week.  No such thing as a bad one.  100% factual statement.  At least for me these days.  We had initially intended to have a very busy week, but with a whole bunch of appointments cancelling, it didn't turn out as we planned the whole way through.  We have to kind of gut our investigator pool this week.  Lot's of people that don't really have interest.  Our ward mission leader said that he really would like it if we dropped some and tried setting up some activities so that we can more effectively reach out to youth in particular.  In Korea lately, the church has been kind of lacking in that side of things.  Lot's of older people really, but not too many young people, and if they do get baptized, they typically don't stick around for too long to be honest.  SO we will work on that a little bit!
This week we had district meeting and our district leader made us lunch beforehand which was delicious!  I am a fan of this district.  It's solid!  Good stuff going on.  Learned about strengthening the wards in which we serve even though our whole district serves within the same ward.  I guess that just means our ward is going to be crazy strong!  That's the plan.
I went on exchanges to my greenie area this week!  It was super cool and crazy awesome fun!  Didn't really get to see anyone I knew there before, but it was still fun to go back there and relive that a bit, in much better weather though!  I went with Elder Brewer who is the district leader there, and he's awesome.  He works hard and really cares about the people there in the ward.  Good stuff all around.
This weekend was stake conference which was super cool.  The area president came and spoke at the conference.  He was really awesome.  He kind of lit up the stake for having the wrong approach to missionary work.  The missionaries keep saying that the member aren't helping them out with the work.  President Ringwood said that is wrong.  Why?  Because it is not the missionaries work.  It is not the missionaries ward.  It never will be unless I move back here some day, and that is what the members of the church need to know right now.  The missionaries aren't the only ones doing the work, at least they shouldn't be.  The missionaries help the members to achieve the work needed in their ward.  I really hope I remember that when I get home.  It's a big deal to remember!
Well I gotta go, I need to go to the bathroom and I can't think of anything else t share really.  Have a great week everyone!!!

Here are a handful of random pictures from Scott's mission.  The first one is a picture of the group that arrived in Korea with him.
Here is his first mission president - Pres. Christensen

and then the second - Pres Morrisse.  After that - totally random, but they are all FUN!

Sooooo, none of us ever mention to Scott that his mission is almost over.  Do we?  We might think it, but we dont say it, ESPECIALLY to him.

Hey Everyone!

Another good week, though there were some disappointments involved.  There were good things and bad things, but I guess any week is pretty much always a good week.  The first big thing that was kind of a bummer is that it rained like ALL week!!!
Not a fan of the rain that much as a missionary just because it makes it so that virtually no one wants to talk to you, but that doesnt matter!  There are still nice people and stuff.  Also if you walk around without an umbrella it's a really good way to get people to want to talk to you at least a little bit, so it's not the worst thing ever, but still somewhat unpleasant.
Tuesday, we met with the guy that was going to be baptized this week and he decided that even though he passed his baptismal interview and it was just fine, he did not want to be baptized this week, but wanted to push his date off a ways until the 25th.  Big problem with that is that his younger sister is a devout catholic and that day THE Pope will be at the Catholic church literally right next to our church.  Talk about a climactic decision.  This week he will have an interview with our bishop and will hopefully be able to work things out a bit more.
Wednesday was transfers which just brought some more people into our zone.  Me and Elder Thompson are still companions which is awesome.  It's a super fun place to be right now.  Here in Incheon with Elder Thompson I mean.  We get a lot of work done, and get along so well it's ridiculous.  Also we do missionary work really well together which is probably the most important part!  not probably.  Is the most important part.
We got a new roommate.  His name is Elder Bae, and he's Korean.  Super good cook.  makes deliciously tasty food.  Makes me realize how lame of a cook I am.  HE's a good guy and does pretty good missionary work as it seems.  He's a good district leader too.  Exciting stuff.
Thursday we met with this one guy who has been meeting with the missionaries for a little bit and he brought up a really good point, that I think I knew but had just kind of let slip from my mind.  As missionaries we can never try and effectively teach anybody by putting our self in a teacher position and them in a student position.  That should not be the way things work.  In Korean they use the word 토론 (to-ron) in PMG for the lessons, which I think is more appropriate because it means discussion if you translate it back.  This guy had been feeling as if that had been a bit not the case, so it made us kind of step back and take a more appropriate approach.  He's a good guy and just wants to come closer to Christ really.  That's the best motivation that we can ask someone to have.
The rest of the week has been good.  I don't have too much time to keep talking about it because we have somethings we have to do today but it's still been an awesome week.
Also, if you wish to email me PLEASE ABSTAIN FROM TELLING ME MY MISSION IS ALMOST OVER!  I am fully aware of that fact, so I appreciate the acknowledgement, but there are other things that I would rather talk about because if I think about that I can only see it getting in the way.  That being said, those of you whom I have pointed that out to, I apologize.  Not mad, just a request.  Thank you!

I love you all!  Keep being awesome!
